How to Easily Measure Your Ring Size at Home

If you'd like to order a ring from my beaded ring collection and need to know your size, you can easily measure it yourself using a few household tools, like a measuring tape or ruler.

Method 1: Measuring with a Measuring Tape

  1. Take a soft measuring tape, like those used by tailors. If you don’t have one, go to Method 2, where you can use a thin string or piece of paper and measure it afterward.
  2. Could you wrap the measuring tape around the finger where you want to wear the ring, right where the ring will sit?
  3. Mark the point where the end of the measuring tape meets itself.
  4. Check the length in millimeters – this is the circumference of your finger.
  5. Compare the circumference to a ring size chart to find your ring size (you can easily find these charts online). However, it’s unnecessary to do this; I only need the circumference in millimeters.

Method 2: Measuring with a Ruler and String

  1. Take a piece of string or paper about 1 cm wide.
  2. Wrap the string or paper around the finger you’re measuring for without making it too tight.
  3. Mark the point where the string or paper overlaps.
  4. Measure the length on a ruler. Place the string or paper on the ruler and measure the exact size in millimeters.
  5. You can compare this measurement to a ring size chart if needed, but to order from me, I only need the measurement in millimeters.

Important Tips

To get an accurate result, it’s best to measure your finger when it is slightly swollen at the end of the day.

Ensure the ring will pass over your knuckle. If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, take that into account when measuring.
